SIS News: The Bidding Continues!
I am happy to report that the Shivas Irons Society 2007 Auction has been extended to accommodate some new and exciting items that have been donated and to encourage bidding on some other wonderful items that remain listed but have not yet been won. Opening bids on most of the relisted items have been lowered.
Here is a partial list of some new and highlighted items. (Closing date in parentheses)

The oldest and most prestigious club in the “Land of 10,000 Lakes.” This fully restored historic Donald Ross masterpiece is listed as one of America’s best 100 classic courses by Golfweek Magazine. (Monday, Dec. 3)
The Olympic Club, The Ocean Course – San Francisco, CA – Golf for three
Perched just above the Pacific, the Olympic Club’s Ocean Course is a wonderful reminder that golf exists paradoxically to please our eye and confound our skills. Ask an Olympic Club member and you are as likely as not to find that the setting, design and challenge of the Ocean Course makes it as popular with them for day-to-day play as its more famous neighbor. A most interesting auction item and a hard choice for the golfing connoisseur… Both these classic courses can trace their design roots to C.B. Macdonald, who introduced the concept of building courses with design strategy similar to what was seen at the great courses of the British Isles. (Monday, Dec. 3)
