The first conference took place in April 2007 in Wroclaw. Over 100 delegates from 18 countries attended. It was one of the most important meetings of golf industry in a world wide scale.
“Each step brings more and more development to golf in Poland and in the Central and Eastern Europe region”. States Marek Podstolski, President of PGA of Poland. “There are many very good golf courses on which biggest tournaments can be played. With the help of educational programmes of PGA of Poland number and professionalism of golf teachers rises. This is with no doubt, the region in which we will observe a dynamical development of this sport.”
“During recent years, with the help of golf promotion programmes held by the Polish Golf Union, we have noticed a considerable increase in number of golf players in Poland. Mainly Green Card Club members from which new club members come from. We hope that Golf Business Conference will rise understanding of this sport discipline on a local government level, as well as interest in building golf courses, especially public ones which will allow members of Green Card Club to train and bring their new sport abilities up to a higher level. Public golf courses will also play their role in increasing number of golf players” States Polish Golf Union President, Piotr Mondalski.
“Organisation of conferences in Poland is a very important factor stimulating golf development in our part of Europe” says Pawel Lewinski, organiser. “This type of meeting, when people with various experience in many aspects of golf industry gather in one place to share their knowledge and opinions is very important.”
